THE NEST - SERIES 2

About the Show

The five episode series No.2 of THE NEST, was first screened in Australia on the SBS Television Network in September 2009, January 2010 and January 2013. It was also shown on the BIO Channel on Foxtel in March 2012.

THE NEST challenges contemporary views about family life in the 21st Century. The first critically acclaimed series looked at adult children living in their parents' home. Series two explores work/family life balance.

It looks at a growing social trend – Australians now work the longest hours in the developed world. One in five Australians, or two million people, work more than 50 hours a week, but nearly half of us say we’d like to work less.

Throughout the series, three participating families are encouraged to reflect on their existing situations and think about their futures. By challenging their normal routines the families look at issues which have a direct effect on their lives. What impact is working longer hours having on family life? Is it affecting their children’s growth?

Performance coach, Andrew May, is on hand to work with the families, provoking realisations and change. He assists in changing their routines and challenges them to reflect on their actions and decisions.

The Nest is produced by Freehand Productions for SBS. To learn more about Freehand, please visit their homepage at www.freehandtv.com.au.
